This beautiful Kenyan coffee borrows its name from the Gathaithi cooperative society, a community washing station located in a small valley just outside of the Aberdere National Park in the Nyeri region that sorts and processes the crops of several small holders in the area. It's here that the cherries are treated to a refined double-washed process (for which Kenya is well-known) before being thoroughly dried and prepared for auction. A blend of SL28 and SL34 cultivars, we find this bold, full-bodied coffee tastes of fresh tomatoes and grapefruit with a clean, sharp acidity.
