Don Concepción Villatoro Matias chose the name Los Do Socios, or "the two associates" for his Huehuetenango farm in reference to his relationship with God, whom Concepción credits as his associate and partner. The farm sits at about 1700 MASL and is well shaded by Gravilea and Chalum trees, which shield the delicate Bourbon and Caturra coffee plants from getting too much direct sunlight. The result is a smooth-bodied coffee that is is intensely chocolaty at first sip before opening up into a sassy tangerine acidity. Like many of our favorite Guatemalan roasts, this cup is a well-balanced crowd pleaser.
